What Happens On A Ghost Tour? Let’s Find Out!

Remember when I had the chance to check out the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California? You don’t?! Be sure to check out my post here!

I personally haven’t been on a walking tour specifically geared towards learning about ghosts. What really happens on a ghost tour? I had no idea! Well, I had the chance to experience one when I was in Seattle.

Have you had the chance to visit Seattle, Washington and saw something you couldn’t explain? Maybe you were drawn to the Pike Place Market but couldn’t explain why. Well, join me in learning more about the dark side of Seattle by taking a tour with US Ghost Adventures.

Seattle, Washington

Now, there are a lot of great sites to see when visiting Seattle. Sites such as: Pike Place Market, the Seattle Space Needle, Museum of Pop Culture, the Seattle Great Wheel, or maybe even The Museum of Flight. These are all great sites to see but if you’re looking for something off the beaten path, consider taking a Ghost Tour.

Parking in Seattle

There are a lot of parking garages to choose from. Since I haven’t needed to park in Seattle before, I took to Google to find a location near the meet up spot for the tour. Most parking structures charge about $15/hour from what I saw.

Since the plan was to grab some food before the tour, I knew I needed at least 2 hours to park. Benaroya Hall Parking Garage was the best option I could find. Something I didn’t know at the time was that there was an event taking place at the same time and date. Thankfully, that didn’t matter that we weren’t going to this event to be able to park. Our parking cost $24 for just over 2 hours.

Food: A Must Before the Tour

We had about an hour before needing to meet up for the tour and I needed some food. We stopped into Pike Pub Brewing for some dinner. The pub doesn’t look like much from the outside, but there are multiple stories to the restaurant.

I will say, I was thoroughly impressed with how quickly we got our food. I was feeling nervous that we weren’t going to make it to the tour in time with stopping for food. From the time of ordering to us getting it, took about 10 minutes. This allowed us some time to breathe and enjoy the food before heading out. It probably helped that the place was not packed with people. I could see wait times being longer on a busy night.

The environment wasn’t overwhelming or overstimulating like some pubs I’ve been to. Which helped in allowing us to decompress from the drive to Seattle and further enjoy the atmosphere.

Ghost Tour of Seattle

Do you enjoy hearing about haunted buildings and want to experience more than just taking a tour? Maybe you want to take full advantage of the experience and stay at the Lizzie Borden House in Seattle.

Don’t worry, I won’t spoil things by telling you everything I learned during this 1 hour walking tour. I will, however, take you to a few of the stops we visited on our tour. So, make sure you have checked in, have your EMF reader ready, and let’s go!

Our first stop is at our check-in point. Outside a hotel overlooking Budd Inlet. This is where our wonderful Tour Guide, Amara, introduced herself and gave us a brief history of the area.

Hopefully you brought your rain gear because it’s starting to rain on our tour tonight.

Our next stop is outside of the Farmers Market. Thankfully our tour time is late enough that we aren’t competing with customers for this beautiful scene.

Amara shares some more history of this iconic location before we head to our next stop. Do you still have your EMF reader handy? Might be worth checking to see if the readings are off the charts here!

One of our stops also included this iconic building. Amara told us about the business that were established here back in the 1800s. To this day, it’s difficult for a business in this building to stay in occupancy. Any guesses as to why that might be?

Our final stop on this adventure is with The Moore Hotel. This location is actually the second one that was established in Seattle. If you’re in Seattle and looking to book a room, see a show, and grab some coffee all at one location, might want to check out The Moore!

US Ghost Adventure

If taking a Ghost tour is something that peaks your interest but you aren’t in the Seattle area to sign up, don’t worry! US Ghost Adventures have over 100 different locations in almost every state in the US.

Final Thoughts

I had an absolutely amazing experience. I had the chance to learn a little bit of the history that surrounds Seattle. Our guide, Amara, was amazing with our tour! If you have the opportunity to join the tour with this Seattle local, count yourself lucky. She was engaging with the group, accommodating, and included great stories to keep the interest of the group.

Thanks for joining me on this spooky adventure. Until next time, adventure awaits!
